Management Staff

POLICE CHIEF

Bruce Goitia was selected on May 23, 2006 to head the MPPD. He has been with Menlo Park Police since 1982. He started his career as a reserve officer, patrol and traffic officer before assignment in investigations. As Sergeant, he has been a supervisor in patrol, traffic, personnel & training and detectives before becoming Commander. Chief Goitia is a graduate of Santa Clara University.

INVESTIGATIONS Services

Commander Terri Molakides
The Investigations Commander leads and directs the efforts of detectives, code enforcement officers, The Narcotics and Gang Enforcement Street Team and oversees the management of property and evidence.

Commander Molakides has been with Menlo Park Police since 1978. She has worked in all areas of the organization, including Investigations, and Patrol before promoting to Sergeant. As a sergeant, she supervised Patrol, Traffic and Community Policing. Her last assignment as a sergeant was to Personnel and Training, where she oversaw recruitment and training and was the Department's Press Information Officer. Commander Molakides is a graduate of Notre Dame de Namur University with her Master's Degree in Public Administration. She is a member of the Menlo Park Chapter of Kiwanis and is a member of the Woodside High School Foundation.

PATROL Services

Commander Lacey Burt
The Patrol Commander manages the daily operations of patrol and is directly responsible for the overall functions as well as the equipment and training requirements for this division.

Commander Burt has 23 years experience with the Palo Alto Police Department before joining the Menlo Park Police in September of 2006. She has worked as an officer, sergeant, and lieutenant in several divisions, including patrol, investigations, traffic, crime suppression team, and personnel and training. Commander Burt has been heavily involved in the field training program for new officers, has taught at the police academy, and was a training officer at the police academy. Her last assignment as a Lieutenant with the Palo Alto Police Department was coordinating the department's five-year strategic plan as well as emergency preparedness. Commander Burt has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from Menlo College and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Emergency Personnel Management.
